TRY USING A KEYHOLE FOR A SMALL SPACE GARDEN

If you want to grow flowers or vegetables, but do not have much space there are several different methods you can try. One or more raised beds may be your answer particularly if you employ the square foot method which will ensure that you make maximum use of the bed. Of course if all you have is a balcony you will have to make do with a few containers, but it is surprising how productive these can be with proper planning. Somewhat more exotic is the spiral garden design which is recommended for growing herbs. Then there is the keyhole garden which combines a planting area with a compost system into one.
The keyhole garden method was created by Dr. Deb Tolman and is described in an article which I found on the Sow and Dipity website. Go to the next page to read the article.
