SIX GORGEOUS HOUSEPLANTS TO LIFT THE DECEMBER GLOOM

SIX GORGEOUS HOUSEPLANTS TO LIFT THE DECEMBER GLOOM

These six houseplants will brighten any room and will thrive even where there is little natural light. While you can keep houseplants all year round it is in the winter months with the shorter days and dark afternoons that these plants come into their own. I found this list which has been created by Stephanie from Garden Therapy.

Houseplants always brighten up a space. Even if the room doesn’t have a lot of natural light, there are still plants you can find that will add vibrant color, interesting shapes, and a little life to even the darkest of corners.

Here is my list of the six most striking plants to ever grace a low-light room.

Snake Plant (Sansevieria)

There’s nothing sinister about the variegated upright leaves of a snake plant. It looks more regal then slithery and how little care it requires makes it a stand-up plant in my book. They are so tolerant that some people even braid the leaves! Water every few weeks and your plant will be happy as a snake.

Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)

This gorgeous plant with glossy green leaves and graceful white flowers looks much more delicate then it truly is. Not only is it excellent at cleaning the air but it looks great while doing it. A peace lily is relatively low maintenance as well.
When it gets thirsty it will wilt to let you know it’s time to give it a good solid drink. Never fear, it will perk right up and get back into form as soon as it has been watered. Keep the water coming and you’ll be rewarded with more blooms!
