I have come across many suggestions for keeping deer out of the garden, but none appear to be very effective other than the expensive option of a tall wire fence. Of course growing plants that deer dislike is one method, but that does restrict you to a small number of plants. You can try strong smelling plants like garlic to act as a deterrent, but this may spoil your enjoyment of the garden as well. Then there are various electronic gadgets that claim to keep the animals away, but none appear to be very effective. I was looking at the Gardensall website when I found a reference to the video below which shows how to make a simple DIY system that is supposed to train the deer to stay away. Worth a try don’t you think?
