My astilbe took a beating this summer – we had a caterpillar infestation in June – they were literally crawling up the sides of the house – and my husband sprinkled lime around the house to kill the smell. Well, the astilbe weren’t too happy!
I have begun to buy my new bulbs, just waiting for time to plant them. I’m trying to get a good vareity of early, mid and late spring and summer bulbs.
That plant looks like an Asilbe. I did not know that you plant them in fall. I always planted them in spring. Maybe it isn’t an Astilbe. Does anyone know.
